The Outline Studio Chair from Muuto is a scaled-down version of the original Outline Chair and tailored for small city dwellings. It references the sophisticated clean lines of Mid-Century furniture but brings the design up to date with generous modern dimensions and high comfort. With slim armrests and a slender back, the space for sitting is maximised, creating a supremely comfortable seat.
Visually light and elegant Outline is equally at home placed mid-room as it is against a wall. The discreet legs are set back from the base edge, giving the chair a hovering, almost weightless look - which will complement, rather than dominate an interior space. Available in various textiles from Kvadrat and in Silk leather from Camo Leathers. Internally constructed with plywood and steel. Upholstered with foam and feathers before chosen textile or leather is mounted. All cushions are hand sewn and filled with a combination of duck feathers and granulated cold foam.
Andersson & Voll on the design of the Outline chair: “With Outline, we aimed to create a visually light and elegant chair with lots of comfort. We wanted to translate some of the elemental and poetic qualities we find inspiring in modernistic architecture. The way some elements juxtapose in the chair’s design are borrowed from the way houses are structured. The different planes overlap and give lightness to the chairs’s expression. This is why Outline has a certain calm serenity - it offers great comfort in a generous seat, but has a slender appearance, and a strong architectural presence.”
