Simple, stylish pots in different sizes; this is the idea behind Stilleben's Edge series of terracotta planters for Fritz Hansen. The pots are hand-crafted from beautiful earth tone terracotta, with a substantial wall thickness to ensure longevity.

Edge Pots are inspired by the classical Greek and Egyptian vases, where the small feet lift the jars off the ground. Here the foot is combined with the body of the pot in a Scandinavian reinterpretation. The jars are marked with a stamp in the surface to celebrate the collaboration of Fritz Hansen and Stilleben on the product.

In 2002, when the two designers Ditte Reckweg and Jelena Schou Nordentoft opened the Stilleben shop in the heart of Copenhagen, they were among the pioneers to bring modern interpretations of handmade ceramics from different designers into a new and modern setting within interior design. A trend that quickly summoned design shops on the thriving Danish design market to follow and soon ceramics became the thing within interior design. Since 2007 the two visionary designers have also worked from their art studio designing not only in their own name but also for renowned Danish design companies such as Kähler and Fritz Hansen.

These pots come with a drainage hole except for the 38 cm diameter Edge Pot. Indoor Edge Pots are also available and come without a drainage hole.

This product cannot withstand freezing temperatures and should therefore be stored in a garage, cellar or the like. To avoid frost damage, make sure to empty the pot and turn it upside down before storing it.

Superb edge pot

The large pot arrived safely with robust packaging. The pot is a subtle shade of blue grey that blends well with other colours. So pretty haven’t had the heart to plant it up yet! Attractive enough to use indoors, in which case, it would be complete if a matching saucer was available which didn’t hide the unique base shape.
