Muuto's Compile shelving system is a contemporary take on a classic shelving system. With its potential to join widthways and endlessly extend upwards, Compile can fit perfectly into any environment - whether there is the need for an individual module, or an entire wall of shelves. The functional and flexible concept combines with a sophisticated appearance, it appears light but it is incredibly strong.
At its core Compile consists of a shelf and four tubes in three heights, which can be combined to suit the purpose. The tubes are joined at the bottom, in a double foot when several modules are combined, creating a stable unit. The tubes and shelves, with their rounded edges, contribute to the light design idiom and creates an airy, open expression together with its stark construct. Complementing the system are specially designed bookends with the same aesthetic approach. To expand the system you can buy individual elements from us and we're always on-hand to make sure you get it right!
Cecilie Manz on the design. "The design, with its logical construction, parallels to a certain degree an unpretentious Scandinavian lifestyle - one shelf represents one building unit while the length of the tube defines the shelf height. In this simple way one can assemble practical formations that fit individual needs."
