In their basic shape and dimensions, the Wooden Side Table relates to the Metal Side Tables created for Vitra by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec in 2014. Like the latter, they derive their appeal from the contrast between their gracefully thin table tops and the voluminous plinth-like bases. As a distinctive feature, the plywood table tops are gently moulded around the edges to form a slight lip, which lends them an elegant almost Japanese look.
With a beautifully book-matched face veneer in oak, dark oak or walnut, the natural grain of the wood looks almost incongruous to the precise silhouette. The Wooden Side Tables are available in three sizes, making them the perfect family of side tables for a wide variety of spaces. The varying heights allow the tables to nest and save space together. When required they can then be parted for individual purposes, the lightweight design ensures this is done with ease.
