Karimoku's Colour Wood Plain Side Table is a minimal version of the Colour Wood Side Table with no applied graphic patterns or coloured elements. This faceted table with a barrel-like base explores woodworking techniques and the characteristics of joined timber slats. Colour Wood Plain is available in four sizes of varying widths and heights to work with nearly all interior requirements.
Inspired by the traditional Japanese wood joint technique yatoi-sanetsugi, the base of this table is made of individual laths that are connected at intricate angles to form a round tapered base. As with all Karimoku New Standard items, the Colour Wood series is finished to the highest standards - Even the underside of the tabletop has not been overlooked.

Scholten and Baijings
Scholten & Baijings is the design studio of Stefan Scholten and Carole Baijings, situated in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Founded in 2000, they work across product, furniture, graphic and exhibition design. They have worked on a wide number of product typologies including chairs, ceramics, glassware, textiles, rugs, and tableware. They also worked on concepts for prestigious institutions and brands.
Together they have won a number of awards, including the Dutch Design Award, the Wallpaper Design Award and the ELLE Decoration International Design Award. Scholten is a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, while Baijings is a self-taught designer. Perfectionists by nature, their products are distinguished by a carefully considered use of pattern, colour and graphic elements.
