Designed by Oslo-based design studio Skogstad & Wærnes, Audo Copenhagen Merkur Dining Chair was originally designed for one of Norway's most monumental buildings, the Oslo Stock Exchange. Inspired by the historical context and the stock exchange's significance, the intention was to create sturdy yet elegant pieces of furniture that fit into the space.
Crafted from a solid wood frame with an upholstered seat and a moulded plywood back using traditional craftsmanship techniques, the Merkur Dining Chair is a durable and timeless piece with excellent form and function. Its curved back and seat allow freedom of movement and maximum comfort while seated. Balancing a robust construction with refined aesthetics, the chair is a versatile piece bringing a sense of warmth and vitality to its surroundings. With its clean and minimalist style, the Merkur Dining Chair is suitable for both residential and commercial use. The optional armrests add another aesthetic element and function to the design.
