Designed by Danish designer and architect Leif Jørgensen, the Connect Bed takes the idea of traditional craftsmanship methods combined with computer-controlled, high-tech tools and processes which have now become commonplace in the contemporary designer's world, to create a minimalistic industrial bed frame. The result is a design with pinpoint precision and an easy-to-assemble construction.
Embedded in the bare frame, the screws become an interesting detail with the joints displaying references to conventional carpentry work. The clever construction allows for simple and quick self-assembly and a lower environmental impact through efficient shipping. Comprised of a thick 4mm powder-coated steel frame, birch plywood slats and an optional OEKO-TEX certified polyurethane foam mattress with a memory foam top, the Connect Bed is a complete sleeping solution in two boxes (three including the mattress). The Connect's uncluttered aesthetics and modest expression make it easy to integrate in most bedroom styles and decor.
The Connect Bed is available in four different sizes and a variety of colour options. We recommend using a HAY 'Standard Mattress 'with Connect Bed for the optimal complete solution. We provide a medium-firm mattress as standard, but a firm option is also available.
