Nicknamed "Golden Bell", Pendant Light A330S has a sculptural quality that can be appreciated whether the light is switched on or off. Casting golden reflections, the perforated rim of the Pendant Light A330S creates a halo effect and prevents glare. Made from a single piece of spun brass or steel, the elegant "Golden Bell" was originally designed by Alvar Aalto for the interior of The Savoy Restaurant Helsinki in 1937 and introduced for resale internationally in the Finnish Pavilion at the Paris World Expo in the same year.
The "Golden Bell" embodies Alvar Aalto's signature streamlined aesthetic, while the illumination it provides is both warm-toned and characteristically diffused by the perforated rim. Look closely and you will notice that this perforation is a repeat of rounded rectangles, which Aalto uses as a minimal pattern on many of his designs.
With its compact and timeless design, the Golden Bell Light can be placed in many spaces from a hallway, living room, bedroom or above the dining table. Originally only produced in brass, it is now also available in black, white and chrome for a more understated aesthetic.
